Natassia Morris Communications + Creative is a multi-service agency that operates at the intersection of Business and The Arts. We specialize in both communications and dynamic arts education projects, offering a unique blend of creativity and purpose.
Natassia Morris (she/her) is the owner and principal consultant at Natassia Morris Communications + Creative Services. A seasoned media, marketing and communications professional, with over a decade of experience across sectors including in the arts, not-for-profit, education and corporate, she developed her expertise over multiple years primarily in arts management positions for small and medium sized not-for-profit arts organizations. Natassia has led and managed major fundraising initiatives and marketing campaigns, sponsorship development programs, large-scale public events, organizational transitions, and strategic planning initiatives.
Combining her artistic background - as a dancer, choreographer, cultural educator and playwright - with her communications experience, Natassia brings innovation, creativity and humanity to her work. Natassia has been actively involved in Canada’s arts and culture sector for over 20 years. Performing since the age of 6, she was a founding member of a youth dance ensemble, Kids Creole, before transitioning to the full-time professional company, Ballet Creole, in 2005. Natassia has performed throughout Canada and the United States, and was a featured soloist in works by Trinidadian-Canadian choreographer Patrick Parson and Milton Myers (formerly of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Company). An accomplished choreographer and dance instructor since the age of 15, Natassia has worked primarily with youth dancers, creating and presenting works for the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, Carabram, Nuit Blanche, Luminato, Pan Alive, and Father John Redmond Regional Arts Dance Program.
Since branching out as an independent consultant, her work has included: working with K-12 and post-secondary institutions on anti-Black racism/anti-racism initiatives; leading a national media campaign for a new institute for Canadians of African descent; corporate lunch and learn speaking engagement on the history of resistance in Caribbean Carnival; co-facilitating business planning workshops to empower a cohort of Black creatives to the business opportunities in the VR/tech space; artistic development consulting with emerging Black music artists; and was a part of the strategic planning consulting team working on a five-year plan for Newmarket’s first Black-led community centre.
Natassia is also co-writing a play on the roots of Carnival culture, told from a Toronto perspective, and continues to share her cultural stories and knowledge through dance education workshops in communities across the GTA and in Toronto’s school boards.
